Slovenian Discovery

Day 1

TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL
Following our Channel crossing to Calais, we complete the journey to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. (D)

Day 2

FROM OVERNIGHT HOTEL (FRANCE) TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL (GERMANY)
We continue our journey heading towards the Munich area where we stay overnight. (B, D)

Day 3

FROM OVERNIGHT HOTEL TO LIPICA
We depart our overnight hotel and travel south through Austria continuing on to Slovenia and Lipica arriving in time for dinner. (B, D)

Day 4

THE KARST REGION
Today we visit the impressive Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These fascinating caves captivate visitors with their spectacular underground waterfalls and majestic chambers. Later we visit Štanjel, one of the oldest settlements in the Slovenian Karst offering spectacular views. Here you will enjoy a guided tour through the medieval village and the famous Ferrari Garden. Finally we continue to Šeptulje to visit a pršuteria where you will learn how pršut is traditionally cured, followed by a tasting of delicious Slovenian prosciutto. (B, D)

Day 5

FREE DAY
Enjoy a day a day at leisure to relax in Lipica (B, D)

Day 6

LAKE BLED, LJUBLJANA & MUSIC EVENING
After breakfast we travel to picturesque Lake Bled and enjoy breath-taking views of the crystal clear water and surrounding mountains. After some free time to explore we make our way to Ljubljana, the cosmopolitan capital city of Slovenia. Here a local guide takes you on a walking tour to see some of the main sights before returning to the hotel. This evening enjoy traditional Slovenian entertainment live music after dinner. (B, D)

Day 7

HORSES & THE SOUND OF THE SEA
This morning we visit the world's largest Lipizzaner stud farm, home to the famous white horses whose tradition dates back to 1580. We then head to the beautiful coastal town of Piran on the Adriatic Sea with free time to explore. From here we cross the border into Italy and visit the captivating city of Trieste which features many buildings from the Habsburg era. After a guided tour here we continue to Miramare Castle, a 19th century castle on the Gulf of Trieste for an exterior visit before returning to our hotel. (B, D)

Day 8

LIPICA TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL (GERMANY)
We depart our hotel and continue to our overnight dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. (B, D)

Day 9

OVERNIGHT HOTEL (GERMANY) TO OVERNIGHT HOTEL (FRANCE)
We continue our journey back towards Northern France where we will stay overnight on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. (B, D)

Day 10

OVERNIGHT HOTEL TO HOME
Continue to Calais and complete the journey home. (B)
